Voltaren Retard belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which are used to treat pain and inflammation.
What is Voltaren Retard used for?
Voltaren Retard is suitable for the treatment of the following conditions:
Rheumatic or degenerative joint pain (arthritis).
Back pain, “frozen shoulder” syndrome, “tennis elbow” and other forms of rheumatism.
Sprains, sprains or other injuries.
Pain and swelling after surgery.
Painful gynecological inflammatory conditions, including painful menstrual cramps.
How Voltaren Retard works Voltaren
Retard relieves symptoms of inflammation, such as pain and swelling, by blocking the synthesis of molecules (prostaglandins) that cause inflammation, pain and fever. It does not affect the causes of inflammation or fever.
In most cases, treatment begins with a dosage of 100 to 150 mg daily – one tablet Voltaren Retard 100 mg. In milder cases and for long-term treatment, 100 mg per day is usually sufficient. Voltaren Retard 100 mg tablets are taken once a day. Do not take more than the maximum daily dose of 150 mg.
When to take Voltaren Retard
Voltaren Retard is recommended to be taken with food.
