Description
Respiratory infections:
Community-acquired pneumonia (developed in outpatient settings), especially caused by microbes such as chlamydia and mycoplasma.
Infections of the ears, nose, throat (tonsillitis, sore throat (pharyngitis) and acute otitis media) in patients who are allergic (hypersensitive) to beta-lactam antibiotics or for whom such treatment is not appropriate for other reasons) .
Urogenital infections: caused by certain microbes (Chlamydia trachomatis)
Skin and soft tissue infections: furunculosis, pyoderma (purulent inflammation of the skin), impetigo, erysipelas (bacterial skin infection [red wind]) in patients who are hypersensitive to hypersensitivity lactam antibiotics, or for which such treatment is not appropriate for other reasons.
