Description
Zefacet belongs to a group of medicines called cephalosporins, which are used to treat mild to moderate infections caused by sensitive microorganisms.
Zefacet can be used to treat:
Acute middle ear infection;
Acute throat infection caused by bacteria;
Uncomplicated acute urinary tract infections (uncomplicated acute cystitis);
Uncomplicated acute gonorrhea.
The recommended dose for adults is one Zefacet tablet a day, taken as a single dose or divided into two equal doses (the tablet can be divided into two equal doses):
1 x 400 mg daily as a single dose or
2 x 200 mg daily at 12-hour intervals
If your doctor prescribes a single dose, it should be taken every 24 hours.
If your doctor prescribes two doses a day, they should be taken every 12 hours. This medicine should be taken at the same time each day.
