Description

Diuretidine is a combination diuretic (dehydrating) medicine that lowers blood pressure. Each of its ingredients complements the action of the other. Hydrochlorothiazide lowers blood pressure by reducing the volume of circulating blood, increasing the excretion of sodium and chlorine ions and the amount of urine excreted. At the same time triamterene helps to preserve potassium ions necessary for the proper functioning of the cardiovascular system.

The combination of hydrochlorothiazide and triamterene leads to an increase in their diuretic effect with reduced dosage and reduced side effects.

This medicinal product is used:
For the treatment of arterial hypertension (high blood pressure) – as part of combination therapy;

In the treatment of edema of cardiac, renal, hepatic or other origin, especially in cases where it is necessary to prevent potassium loss;

As concomitant therapy with cardiac glycosides in the treatment of congestive heart failure to prevent potassium loss;

As adjunctive therapy in the treatment of potassium-sparing diuretics for the prevention of hypokalaemia (low potassium in the blood).
